Trout records is pleased to announce the release of Handmade Moments debut CD. They play a folk/jazz mix that is very listenable. This is not a kid's project. Handmade Moments is the duo of Anna Horton and Joel Ludford. Their self-titled debut CD will be released July 2014. The band came out of the successful and innovative band Don’t Stop Please. Anna and Joel present a distillation of jazz and folk music that is potent and very listenable. The 12 song CD combines original songs with jazz standards recorded live in the studio with minimal overdubbing. The duo expertly presents stripped down versions of their songs using their dynamic guitar and ukelele combination. Anna and Joel also spiced up the project with guest artists Adams Collins on vibraphone and 5 string banjo, Keith Grimwood on upright bass, Joe Sundell on 5 string banjo, Kelly Mulholland on mandolin, Donna Mulholland on fiddle, and Ezra Idlet on percussion to round out the project.
The CD is being released on Grammy nominated Trout Fishing in America’s record label, Trout Records. For years, Trout Records has been a single artist label. Handmade Moments represents a new and exciting direction for the label. Ezra Idlet, who produced the CD said, “Anna and Joel are excellent players with a smart sense of songwriting and style. We’re proud to have them on our label”.

Handmade Moments is the folk-jazz duo from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Their music is reminiscent of 20s dance hall hits and viper era jazz standards mixed with current themes. Although modern and fresh, Joel and Anna’s songwriting contains a subtle and humble vibe. Every show leaves fans lusting over Anna’s prolific voice while Joel’s guitar grooves ring in their bobbing heads. The duo will be embarking on their third west coast tour this fall after the release of their debut self-titled album. This is a band you want to catch soon. They won’t be playing small venues for very long.
